- Professor Farnood and Enbridge Gas proposed research collaboration under Engage program was approved by NSERC as of May 2011
- NSERC Engage project with Eco-Tec has been successfully approved as of April 2011
- With financial support of Trojan Technologies, and support of Environment Canada's National Water Research Institute, and matching fund under NSERC CRD, Professor Farnood's lab will be developing new technologies for the treatment of CSO.

- Pooya has won the Frances Bradfield Graduate Fellowship in Environmental Engineering of 2011
- Congratulations to Pooya for winning the Michael Smith Award for foreign study. This award is onle available to top tier NSERC scholarship recepients. Pooya is currently holding an NSERC Alexander Graham Bell award.
- Pooya will be spending six months at professor Dumesic's lab and University of Wisconsin starting Jan 2011
