Education:
B.Sc. (Chemical Engineering): University of Toronto, Canada
Current Project:
My research involves reconstructing the in silico metabolic network of Pichia stipitis, which is one of nature’s most efficient xylose fermenters. I wish to use this model to understand why this yeast is so effective in utilizing xylose, and to investigate potential metabolic engineering strategies for the efficient conversion of lignocellulosic derivatives into high-energy fuels and other specialty chemicals.
