Overview

  • Interaction with the Senior Manager of Business Development and President of BASF Canada on a regular basis
  • Exposure to multiple markets: construction, oil & gas, mining, remediation and food & beverage to name a few
  • Exposure to numerous chemical markets with the world’s largest chemical manufacturer; as well as learn the technical/business side of the markets simultaneously
  • Assist in scouting new customers and opportunities in Canada by providing market intelligence on strategic industries and players in the chemical landscape in Canada; and recommend key target customers, distributors and value chain partners through strategic market analysis
  • Great development opportunity for a recent graduate looking for a job in the industry

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement – bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry and/or engineering
  • Bilingual in French is an asset but not mandatory
  • Background in one or more relevant industries such as construction, oil & gas, health & animal nutrition, mining and transportation
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Can manage both short and long term project needs
  • Proven ability to triangulate market and customer data from a variety of sources and to recommend strategic actions based on key insights is essential
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral are essential
  • Experience in presenting to customers and executive management, and working in a global company, is a strong asset
  • Ability and willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-moving environment is expected
  • Ability to travel throughout Canada and the US if necessary
