The Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry participated in the University of Toronto’s Fall Campus Day on November 15, 2025, welcoming prospective students and their families to an engaging series of events at both the Myhal Centre for Engineering Innovation & Entrepreneurship and the Bahen Centre for Information Technology.
At Myhal, the department’s booth attracted a steady stream of visitors interested in learning about the undergraduate program’s curriculum, experiential learning opportunities and diverse career prospects. Faculty, staff and student representatives shared insights into what distinguishes Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry at U of T, fostering thoughtful discussions about research, innovation and community within the department.

Throughout the day, the department also offered guided tours of the Unit Operations Lab, giving prospective students and parents a firsthand look at the equipment and experimental facilities that support hands-on learning. These tours provided an opportunity to see how core engineering principles are applied in laboratory settings, further enriching visitors’ understanding of the student experience.

Visitors also had the opportunity to view a demonstration of the department’s ChemE Cube model, a student-built system that showcased practical, hands-on engineering applications. The display sparked strong interest among attendees who were eager to learn more about how theoretical concepts are brought to life through student-led projects.
In addition to the booth, faculty members and student club representatives delivered presentations at the Bahen Centre, providing a comprehensive overview of the program and offering guidance on what students can expect when pursuing chemical engineering studies at U of T. These sessions gave prospective students valuable insights into academic expectations, co‑curricular opportunities, and the supportive environment that defines the department.

The department extends sincere appreciation to all volunteers and participants who contributed their time and enthusiasm to the day’s success!
