The Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in Chemical Engineering emphasis will equip students with high-demand skills at the intersection of AI, chemical engineering, and applied chemistry, preparing them for a rapidly growing job market in industries such as pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing. Graduates will gain expertise in analyzing diverse chemical data, applying AI tools, and solving real-world challenges, ensuring they are well-prepared to lead innovation in next-generation industry.
This emphasis is only open to ChemE MEng students
Current ChemE MEng students admitted prior to Fall 2026 may claim the ALChemE emphasis retroactively after Fall 2026, provided they complete the emphasis requirements.

Emphasis Requirements
Students will be required to complete four half courses, totalling 2.0 FCEs, to earn the emphasis. The course requirements are as follows:
