Network and IT Job Request Procedure

Non-emergency IT requests should be made using the Departments Ticketing system (ServiceNow).

The ticketing system:

  1. Allows you to track your IT requests
  2. Ensures that IT requests are not lost
  3. Allows for effective monitoring and reporting of the Departments IT support requirements.

General IT  Office Hours

General (non-emergency) IT requests should should be made through the ticketing system. Open office hours are only between 11:00am-12:00pm and 3:30pm-4:00pm daily.

8:45 am - 10:00 am Departmental and Daily Maintenance Jobs (Please do not disturb)
10:00am - 11:00 noon Ticketed IT Jobs
11:00 noon - 12:00pm Open office hours - General IT help
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm - 3:30 pm Ticketed Jobs
3:30 pm - 4:00 pm Open office hours - General IT help
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Paperwork and clean up (Please Do Not Disturb)


Please note that these hours are a general guide. If the job takes longer or must occur outside the normal U of T business hours, we will try (and have tried) to accommodate as much as possible. However we ask our clients to respect the schedule as much as possible in order to assist our IT personnel in completing their assigned tasks.
