For applicants, the awards under Government-Funded Awards and International Student Awards will be of particular interest.
All MASc and PhD applicants will automatically be considered for the Colin Hahneman-Bayley Fellowship, which is awarded to an incoming MASc or PhD student based on academic excellence. International applicants whose admission application (including references) is complete by January 15th, 2019 will automatically be considered for the Connaught International Scholarships for Doctoral Students and the Ontario Trillium Scholarship. In addition, applicants are also nominated by their supervisors for the Connaught International Scholarships for Doctoral Students and the Ontario Trillium Scholarship.
MASc and PhD Application Procedures
Step 1: Complete the School of Graduate Studies Online Application, and pay the application fee. Your SGS application number will be required in order to complete the Departmental Online Application.
Applicants may submit a scanned copy of their transcripts through the School of Graduate Studies Online Application, and these will be used when considering admission.
If admitted, official transcripts will be required before the start of the program. Transcripts are considered official when they have been prepared, sealed in an envelope and signed over the back flap by an official at the issuing institution. Official transcripts are to be sent to the Admissions Committee in the Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry.
Step 2: Complete the Departmental Online Application. For MASc and PhD applications, two references are required, and they are collected electronically through the Departmental Online application. Therefore we do not accept reference letters (i.e. paper documents) that are sent by mail, email, or fax.
Step 3: Find a Supervisor. For MASc and PhD applicants, an offer of admission may only be considered when the applicant both meets admission requirements and has a faculty member that agrees to provide research supervision and financial support. Visit this website’s Research section and faculty listing to explore our professors’ research interests. Applicants are encouraged to approach potential supervisors early in the application process, and may approach more than one faculty member at a time.

Applicants are not required to have met this requirement at the time they apply, however if admitted this requirement must be met before the start of the program.
