Gan commenced her professional journey as a Technical Trainee at the R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant for the City of Toronto in 2013. Here, she provided pivotal project engineering support services aimed at enhancing decision-making, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement within water treatment operations.

Transitioning to environmental sciences in 2015, Nikki took on the role of Project Scientist at S2S Environmental Inc. in Pickering, Ontario. In this capacity, she supervised the installation of boreholes and monitoring wells for Phase II environmental site assessments, adhering meticulously to regulatory standards. Her responsibilities also included collecting and analyzing groundwater and soil samples to evaluate potential environmental contaminants, crucial for due diligence processes related to residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

Nikki’s career at Scotiabank began as a Technical Support Analyst, where she quickly demonstrated her capabilities and rose to the position of Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, making significant impact through various strategic initiatives. She led the decommissioning of Microsoft BizTalk servers, enhancing efficiency and cost savings across operations. Recognizing the importance of seamless global payments, Nikki established crucial data connections with Scotiabank counterparts in Latin America, which improved transparency in wire payments and reduced inquiries to the contact center. She also spearheaded the successful launch of a new payment experience and user interface on ScotiaConnect, benefiting over 6,000 Small Business clients by improving accessibility and driving digital adoption. Additionally, Nikki developed a robust fraud monitoring strategy, ensuring business clients were safeguarded against potential fraud and phishing attacks. Her contributions at Scotiabank underscore her proactive leadership and commitment to delivering innovative solutions that drive operational excellence and client satisfaction.

Her achievements in data analytics and strategic insights have culminated in her current role as Manager of Data Analytics at Scotiabank.
