Appointment of Professor Krishna Mahadevan as Acting Associate Chair, Undergraduate Curriculum Development

Dear faculty, staff, and students,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Krishna Mahadevan as the Acting Associate Chair, Undergraduate Curriculum Development (UGCD) for a 1-year term from July 1, 2024 until June 30, 2025.

Krishna joined our Department in 2006. His group works on metabolic engineering and synthetic biology. He is the Canada Research Chair in Metabolic Systems Engineering and has been leading the math subgroup discussions as part of the Curriculum Committee. Krishna has been the Associate Director for BioZone since 2010, and was the ChemE Associate Chair, Graduate Studies from 2017 to 2020.

In this current role as Acting Associate Chair, Undergraduate Curriculum Development (UGCD), Krishna will focus on the department’s strategic goal in creating a modern chemical engineering curriculum and supporting the accreditation process.
