Natalie Tleel (ChemE 1T9 + PEY) is among 18 U of T Engineering students who received a U of T Student Leadership Award (formerly known as the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Awards) for exceptional contributions to the U of T community and student experience.
Natalie has focused her leadership initiatives around providing students with networking and career growth opportunities throughout her five years. This year, she led the political advocacy portfolio for Engineers Without Borders (EWB) placing a strong focus around social impact. She was also an executive member on the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineers for four years, serving as vice-chair during her professional experience year (PEY).
Natalie has received scholarships to attend global initiatives throughout her time as an undergraduate which included: attending a 10-day sustainability program in Peru, representing her school at the Student Energy Conference in Imperial College London, and getting accepted to the 2019’s World Bank Youth Summit in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation, she plans to continue to lead global initiatives in sustainable energy.
