iGem: Mentorship Program

On October 3rd, iGEM TO held the kickoff for the inaugural Mentorship Program. Their mission to leverage their platform to connect undergraduate students with STEM mentors in research and the biotech industry.

The iGEM TO Co-President, Amogh M, first introduced this year’s project – Mystiphage – a platform that integrates wet lab validation and computational pipelines to rapidly generate phage receptor binding proteins to combat antimicrobial resistance.

Mentorship Program coordinators, Jenny Min, Lindsay Tu, and Angirmaa Tamir, supported by Outreach Lead Justine del Socorro, then led an info session, followed by icebreakers, giving the opportunity for mentees to connect with mentors and learn more about the program.

Overall, it was a great success! The team thanks everyone for joining the Mentorship Kickoff – Stay tuned for future updates!
