The Hatch Scholarship Poster Session was held on Friday, June 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Hatch’s offices located at 2800 Speakman Drive in Mississauga, Ontario.
Established in 2009, the Hatch Scholarship was created to support students who are working to address gaps in society related to energy and sustainability. The program also provides an opportunity for students to engage directly with engineering professionals at Hatch, who are interested in learning about students’ ideas and approaches to addressing these challenges. Through the scholarship and poster session, Hatch representatives can discuss current industry priorities and share insights into the issues they are addressing in today’s engineering landscape.
This year’s poster session brought together scholarship recipients to showcase their projects and achievements. Professors Cathy Chin and Timothy Bender, who have been involved with the scholarship program for many years, continued their support of student learning and engagement through the event.
The poster session was organized through the collaborative efforts of Lucia Gouveia from Hatch and Professor Bender, who worked together to coordinate the event and provide students with a venue to present their work.
“Congratulations to all of the students who participated and to those who received awards. Your dedication to addressing important challenges in energy and sustainability is inspiring, and we are proud to support the next generation of innovators,” said Professor Chin.

The poster session creates valuable opportunities for students and industry professionals to exchange perspectives on the challenges facing our communities and the engineering solutions needed to address them. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners, as well as every student who presented their work. Your hard work and commitment to making a positive impact should be celebrated,” said Professor Bender.
