Dear ChemE Faculty and Graduate Students,

The Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry is undertaking a review of its teaching assistant (TA) administration processes with the goal to streamline and improve the service delivery to graduate students and faculty members.

This review will be led by a Task Force that is chaired by Professor Charles Jia and involves Kristin Goodwin (Director, Administration and Finance) and Owen Mototsune (graduate students’ representative) as members.

The mandates of this Task Force are to:

1 – Review the Department’s current practices and processes for TA administration
2 – Review the TA administration survey results recently conducted by CEGSA
3 – Seek input from faculty, staff, students, and other key stakeholders as deemed necessary
4 – Examine TA administration processes at other units within the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering (FASE)
5 – Advise the Chair on improvements for the TA administration processes, including the potential reporting structure of a TA administrator, by July 29, 2022.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to connect with me.

Thank you,
Ramin
