Welcoming ChemE Students Back / Class Photos

The Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry was delighted to welcome students back to campus as the fall term begins.

On September 3, we gathered for class photos: Year 2 students outside the Wallberg Building, and Year 3 students in the Unit Operations Laboratory (UOL). A second group of Year 3 photos was also taken in the UOL on September 4.

During the Year 3 photo sessions, Department Chair Ramin Farnood joined Professor Ariel Chan in the UOL to welcome students and share words of encouragement as they embark on another year of their ChemE journey.

“Each academic year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and connect,” Farnood told the students. “We’re proud of the hard work you’ve put into your studies, and we’re here to support you as you take on new challenges.”

He also encouraged them to think beyond the classroom.

“These years will go by quickly,” he added. “Take time to enjoy the experience, build strong connections with your peers, and remember that the skills you develop here will stay with you long after graduation.”

These moments mark the start of a busy and rewarding academic year — and we hope the photos serve as memories that students will look back on fondly in the years ahead.
