On Sun Nov 13, the University of Toronto Chemical Vehicle (UTCV) team placed 8th out of 39 teams at the American Institute of Chemical Engineering (AIChE) Chem-E-Car Finals in Phoenix, Arizona. They also placed 5th in the poster competition.
The group worked hard for months to prepare and optimize their car. However, an an 11-hour unforeseen logistical issue almost derailed the group from being able to compete. Thanks to the efforts of our Chair (Professor Ramin Farnood), their supervisor (Professor Cathy Chin), and several faculty members from Arizona State University, UTCV members were able to resolve the situation and realize their goal of taking part in the prestigious competition.
