Addressing industry challenges with research-based solutions

The Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry at the University of Toronto has a long tradition of successful collaborations with industrial partners that address commercially relevant technical challenges. The University provides excellent institutional support for strategic industry-university partnerships that maximize impact by leveraging various federal and provincial funding sources.

Our faculty members are world leaders in their fields working with diverse and talented graduate students and postdoctoral fellows on real-world problems in sectors as diverse as energy, environment, health, bioprocessing, pulp and paper, industrial water and mineral extraction.
